Target Rifle
Target Rifle (TR) is the traditional prone (lying down) shooting position with no rest, usually with a sling attached to a shooting jacket to assist with holding and aiming through the iron aperture sights.
The grades within TR shooting are:

- C grade
- B grade
- A grade
The allocation of grades is determined by a ranking system set by the National Rifle Association of New Zealand (NRANZ).
